Annual carbon emissions prevented
Our first Bio-Coal production facility in Sangrur, Punjab is India's pioneer commercial plant converting paddy straw into torrefied bio-coal at scale. With an installed capacity of 100 MT per day (about 30,000 MT of bio-coal per year), this plant alone will recycle 60,000 tons of farm residue annually.
Sustainable Development Model
Farm Waste Collection
Collecting paddy straw that would otherwise be burnt
Bio-Coal Production
Converting agricultural waste into valuable fuel
Power Generation
Supplying thermal power stations with green fuel
Farmer Income
Providing revenue for previously worthless crop residue
It will become a model for sustainable development by turning what was once smoke-polluting waste into an energy resource. The majority of the Bio-Coal produced here will be supplied to nearby thermal power stations in Punjab, directly replacing a portion of the coal they would burn.
Environmental Impact
Before: Stubble Burning
  • Air pollution affecting millions
  • Zero economic value for farmers
  • Significant greenhouse gas emissions
  • Health hazards for local communities
After: Bio-Coal Production
  • Clean air with reduced particulate matter
  • Income generation for farmers
  • CO₂ emissions reduction
  • Improved public health outcomes
In doing so, our Sangrur plant will prevent roughly 70,000 MT of CO₂ emissions each year, while also providing farmers in the region an income for crop residues that used to be burnt for free.
Facility Design

Architectural Design Features
Our facilities are designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind, featuring state-of-the-art processing equipment and environmentally conscious architecture.
Production Process
The torrefaction process converts agricultural waste into energy-dense bio-coal through controlled heating in an oxygen-limited environment, resulting in a coal substitute with similar burning properties.
Environmental Controls
Each facility incorporates advanced emission control systems to ensure the production process itself remains environmentally friendly and compliant with all regulations.
Nationwide Expansion

Vision
100 plants nationwide
Growth
Expanding to Odisha and other states
Foundation
Proven Sangrur plant design
We are now gearing up to replicate this model across India. Trans Pacific is in the process of scaling up to 100 plants nationwide, including upcoming projects in Odisha and other agricultural states. Each new plant will follow our proven design – creating local employment, cleaning the air, and producing green fuel for industry.
Climate Impact Goals
100 Plants Nationwide
Establishing facilities across India's agricultural regions
Coal Replacement
Providing sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels
Emissions Reduction
7 million MT of CO₂ offset annually
Climate Goals Achievement
Contributing to India's clean energy transition
When our 100-plant vision is realized, we anticipate an overall offset of over 7 million MT of CO₂ emissions annually (by replacing coal at that scale), making a significant contribution to India's climate goals and clean energy transition. Every new plant brings us closer to a future where farm stubble burning is a thing of the past and sustainable Bio-Coal is readily available to power India's growth.
